The crazy confusing C

The C evolved from the Phoenician and Hebrew gimels. The Greeks reversed it also and used it for the hard G sound. Even after the G was introduced the crazy confusing C continued to make K, S, and sh sounds when it's not simply being silent. Benjamin Franklin even called for its removal when he proposed a phonetic alphabet. Not a bad idea.
